When someone tells you to say hi for them, do you do it? Or do you just ignore the request?

I ignore it because most of the time, if you do tell that person "__says hi" they're just kind of like..."umm...okay?"
Just to avoid awkward silences, I ignore the request.
After all, why can't they just call them up? =D

most times I honestly do try to remember to pass that "hi" on but sometimes I forget.
