Do young people really care about what is going on in the news? The assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the violence in Kenya, the poverty in Afghanistan...? It seems that people of my generation just don't care. Why this apathetic nature? Please someone be a ray of light in this smouldering fog.

It's actually the norm. There are a lot of young people who care, but you are also surrounded by young people who are inundated with other things. At a young age, many haven't developed that sense of responsibility to the world or even themselves. It's not a horrible thing. Just young people trying to be young. I cared when I was younger, but now that I am older I pay attention to these things more closely.

I care. I'm 40. I don't know if you consider that young or old. Happy New Year. 2D

Worrying about those things makes you unhealthy so people tend to avoid them completely. Sure helping people in those places is good but most of the time there is nothing we can do. Why does it matter that we know about Bhuttto being assasinated?

But Ive always been very interested in politics and law as well; they define so much of our existence.
