It could be weather related! Are you near an ocean! Possibly in an earthquake area! Animals have a sixth sense! Someone in the family very ill! Keep them close and try to remain calm*

The dog may be spooked from something from when she was outside and brought her fear inside to the rabbit just let the dog calm down and take the rabbit and hold him close so he knows he is safe and have someone check outside just to make sure nothing is out there and calm her down.

hi well I'm not sure about your dog maybe his just settling in if you just got her. but about your rabbit i can help i have a dog as well as a rabbit and when your rabbit does make to thumping noises with its feet it means ....

A rabbit that is very scared or nervous may "thump" a hind leg, slapping it hard against the ground. This isn't just a warning to other rabbits, but to you, too. Note that rabbits sometime also thump to indicate anger, or even just to say "pay attention," but it should be pretty easy to distinguish these by the context.

also if the rabbit is outside with the dog maybe they are both scared and don't want to be together.

im sorry, there is really no other way to say this, but im a vet and she has a rare infection of Talefiginosis which means she should be put to sleep or she will go insane.

If you are in an earthquake zone, you may be in for a big one.

Since it's New Year's Eve, is there any chance they're hearing fireworks or gunshots in the area? That could very well cause it.

If that's what's going on, keep the dog inside! More dogs go missing on New Year's Eve and 4th of July than any 2 days of the year because of fear.

Are you near a major tectonic fault zone? If so, your animals may be picking up signs of the earth trembling at a frequency too subtle for humans to detect. They know it means trouble and may be reacting accordingly.

My first thought upon hearing of your dog is that she REALLY needs to go outside on leash. Take her out because she might have diarhhea. OTOH, if she won't let you near her then the problem just might be something she can pick up on and we can't.

Try to reassure your pets that everything will be okay. What we did with our Greyhound who was afraid of hot air balloons was to cover him with our bodies until he stopped quivering. Your dog and rabbit may need that kind of reassurance--the kind only available when you sheild their bodies with your own. It may pass soon, so unless they show other signs of illness this should help. Good luck!

they are sure afraid of something or someone who might be lurking around. animals can also sense storms or fires and anything out of the ordinary. there could be a animal outside that they can smell. check ur weather channels and keep ur doors and windows locked and a few lights on for a few days until they settle down.keep petting them and talking soothingly.hopefully they will get back to normal. good luck.

wow, well, could be some really unlikely and weird things like your house is about to collapse, or someone in the house is into, uh, well, animal love.. ughhhhh... however i would say the bunny thing is just worry (mostly on your part) and you shoulc focus on the dog which is most likely a problem with the rear end (signified by the tail)... could be dog has painful burning runs or constipated real bad.. i had a dog who always wanted to go out but wouldnt do anything & turned out to be constipated & had worms too.. worms or foreign object they ate will make them act funny when the object or worm is coming out or trying to come out... good luck
