Council tax, so dont worry your council tax will only pay for the ones where you live. Either that or the advertisers fees.

Maybe you should find out where they are made first. What makes them better about being made in Britain?

I was going to say something really sarcastic but you are right, why should your taxes be spent on frivolous activities without your explicit written consent, you should get straight down to your local MP in the morning or fire off an e-mail telling him what for! Also you should demand that if they are going to waste your money then at least the fireworks should be English, and none of your foreign crap. Londoners didn't survive the blitz just to have their cash wasted celebrating a minor holiday like new years day even if it is supplemented by the national lottery and who gave them permission to use good cause money, which could be spent on the ballet, for foreign fireworks, whats this country coming to!

Consider it for a moment and it looks like politics. Lots of sparkle disappearing into smoke and darkness.
