As per last Census North literacy rate is 69.532% and South rate is 70.27%

Now you can see there is not much diference.

However literated and Educated is not same thing and there is no census conducted to find out Educated people.

if u name some of the poorest states in india they all belong to north india..literacy and general awareness is better in sount than in north..although u find equally uneducated people in both places...its just that the count is a little more in north than in south

Education is totally different from qualification. If you are talking about education then almost entire india is educated.

People from South India are more literate as compared to people from north india.

No, actually I think there is a difference. Because in the poorer regions, they learn up to high school only. In the rich regions (I don't know if it was North or South) the are better educated.
