Well, originally glasses were worn on ones nose and not attached to the ears. So the answer is YES.

everyone would wear contacts. or they would have kept that single big lens that you could hold up to your eye when you need to see better.

guess whoever invented eyeglasses would have also figured out a way to keep them on our heads with a band or strap that goes around the head.
