Ok, so I have been on the pill for like 2 months and 1 week now, and still haven't had unprotected sex. We always use condoms. But we want to switch to using spermicide gel in conjunction with the pill, instead of condoms, just to be extra careful. I know people who have gotten preggers on the pill, so I wanna watch it. Anyways, the question is...will the spermicide be as effective as condoms while used with the pill. And I'm not worried about STDs or anything, I only have one partner. So yeah, any opinions/answers would be appriciated. Thanks!

You'd be better off to ask your doctor, or a pharmacist. This is what they train for. You will never know how good the advice is you get here. The person could say that they are a pharmacist, but you will never truly know, and so you'll never know if you can trust the advice.

There is a 5% pregnancy rate with the pill, 14% with condoms and 26% with spermicide. If you are really concerned about becoming pregnant, there are other options out there for birth control that have higher effectiveness rates than the pill, some almost as high as sterilization, such as Depo-Provera shot, Norplant and IUDs. Another good thing about all of those is there is nothing you have to worry about every day.. the shot you get every 3 months, and the other 2 you don't implanted then don't have to do anything for years. You may want to consider talking to your doctor about those options.

I would stick with the condoms. Spermicide gel may not prove to be as affective as a condom. But do some reading up on the gel before you use it. Otherwise, its up to you.
