...I am referring to single women, who either go to sperm banks or adopt. As in women who don't want to be married, but want to have children. I would like everyones input on this, positive or negative. Thanks!

I think that it is amazing that they are so independent as to having and raising a child on their own. I praise them for having the patience and necessary resources to do it. It could have downfalls, with the child not having a father, but a wonderful mother could always overpower that position.

i think it is OK to be a single woman & having children. it is just showing men & society that we as women can take care & do things as & for a family without a man. it also shows are daughters that we do have a choice in life & that is okay. it also shows how strong us women have became in this day in time. it also shows that it don't mean that you are loose or those other names we get called when we have children with no male around. so if you are deciding to have kids & be singe . i wish you good luck & also give you the thumbs up. i believe you can do this. all loving & learning begins at home. don't worry what the world thinks.

I think that as long as she is a very strong, giving, committed person, who can do all she sets her mind to, and be financially ready for it- that it'd be great - what a role model. As long as she's willing to give the child everything she's got, for a long time.. and not be a weak person, and must also be loving and stern, so she can teach the child to be independant too.

It's okay with me but ...

Just who is paying for these kids? Me thinks that the tax-payers should not be held accountable.

You agree?

thanks for asking. The ideal home situation for a child is two parents to provide an example of a loving partnership. that way one can stay at home with the child while s/he's very young. I think that single motherhood is terribly selfish. if a woman can't provide a whole family (I care not one wit whether both partners are the same gender), she should wait. if she absolutely must have children in her life, she can be a professional aunt or do volunteer work, like being a Big Sister.

If you have a stable income, and you are ready go for it. I do recommend you have a house at which they can spend most of their lives, and adult friends(without kids) around a lot, so that you're not the only adult in their lives.

it depends on the woman, some women have alot to offer a child, same with a single man wanting to adopt, families are different now, not all people are married. love makes a family
