There was a movie out in the 80s or 90s, and I think it was by the same people (or one of the same people) who did Re-animator. The movie was about these animals that would bite people and turn them into one of them (they weren't werewolves, though. They were like little primate-things, I think). And I remember the main was that the main guy's mother had been bitten and turned into one. And at the very end, the main guy went around hacking all the monster-things up with a lawnmower. Does anybody know what movie I'm talking about? It was extremely gory and very stupid and I think it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. Can anyone help me out?

...you're talking about outrageously gory and pitch-black-humored horror flick from 1992, called "Dead/Alive" (...also known as "BrainDead"), which was directed by Peter 'Lord of the Rings" Jackson; the creature, which you are referring to, was a vicious little Sumatran rat-monkey, who's bite is infectuous, deadly and turns it's victims into brain-dead zombies...

...indeed, there WAS a young man in the film, whose mother falls victim to the infectious little bugger, and by the end of the film, the young man not only has to contend with a houseful of zombies (...which he does, with a well-armed lawnmower), but also his mom, who becomes this gigantic and monstrous thing...
