I don't think it would happen.

I don't believe it will happen before the start of the 2008 season but I believe the Yankees have a shot to get Santana around the all-star break. A lot depends on how the season will be going for the yankees and what they will be willing to give up to get him.

The Yankees definitely need him - but they don't have much too offer the Twins - since they can only sign younger players who aren't demanding $20 million a year. They would be giving away their farm system to get him. They need to try to build from within the organization instead of spending $200 million a year. I am hoping he goes to a NL team so that they can compete with the Yanks and Sox - and Im sure that the Twins would rather have him in the NL too.

i can almost guarantee they wont
the twins seem to prefer the idea of just keeping santana and loosing him as a free agent to the idea f trading him to the yanks or red sox
if he is to get traded anywhere i would expect to see him go to seattle or the mets, otherwise hell stay in minneapolis

I think he will stay with the Twins until at least the Trade Deadline, and if he does go somewhere it will be to Boston for Lester, Crisp, and two minor leaguers.

They certainly have a shot.
The Twins eighther have to trade him or resign him. If they don't trade him & just let him walk away as a free agent, that would be a really bad move.

They'd have to give up Jose Reyes to Minnesota because he's a star, and he's affordable for the Twinkies payroll.
If A-Rod signed with the Mets, then maybe it would happen. But since they couldn't get anyone to replace Reyes at SS, it won't happen.

logically no. Twins asking for too much.
But I just get this gut feeling on this one. Santana is New York bound, and no I am not talking bout the Mets
