I know someone who married her mother's cousin's son. They were able to do it legally here in Michigan, but the son's mother went to her doctor and asked if it would cause their children to have birth defects, and supposedly the doctor said no. I don't speak to these people anymore because there are over six billion people on this earth, and in my opinion there is no justification for marrying a relative. I just got too creeped out over it.

If the wife is age 55 or older and/or sterile (unable to bear children).
