no...most stores are closed if not closed early on new years eve. but after that, on new years day they go back to regular hours

most are open, they just have abnormal times. some open at 10, others at noon, and they might close at 4 instead of the usual 5.

I don't work at a clothing store, but I am in retail. Most big chain stores will be open, such as Macy's, Sears, Kohls, Walmart, and etc. Smaller stores or privately owned stores may not be. Most stores did close earlier today on New Years Eve.
