We do this entire southern ritual of food that I personally find bizarre, but it seems it is common.

Yes, we're having that darned traditional family dinner. I'd much rather stay home and relax, but my mother insists on everyone coming to her house for cabbage, etc.

Ah, well. It makes her happy, so it's a good thing.

family meal tomorrow. but it's not traditional. i mean family like auntie, uncle, cousins, and my mama. my auntie and uncle are brother and sister though they're not married. lol
