You will have absolutely no problems what so ever getting a visa or getting a hotel etc. I am a British citizen and have never experienced any problems getting a visa, so I'm not sure what the other answerer is on about. I travelled to Moscow last year with my friend who was 17 at the time and he experienced no problems and arranged everything himself.

I always get problems with the visa application because of the fact that i am a british citizen .. currently you would not get a visa because you are only 17 and you need to be 18. Currently i am in moscow and to be honest it is not like in Britian or america where in every corner of the street a house is for sale.. and if they do have somerwhere to rent it would not be cheap as they will notice that you are a "tourist" and will demand extra money from you because you are form the west!!
S novim godom
Im sorry to say this but you will not be able to get the tourist visa until you are 18

Why would you want to go to the biggest s..t house in the world.Maybe you want a Microsoft Word programme at £2.Seriously it is not recomended for a guy at 17,as long as you realise the Communist cultures are still intact. They have been taught to share everything that includes stealing, cheating lying and they dont consider it wrong. The subways are dangerous places to be alone especially for women. But if you must you must.
