When we lived on a farm my Dad had a 1936 Ford up truck that I use to rid in and also learned how to drive in it. They didn't have drivers training then.

Many many many times I have rode in the back of my parents truck. It was so much fun. Once in awhile we see someone riding in the back of a truck now. It is still legal here to do that, BUT you have to sit in the bed of the truck and with your back to the cab or to the side of the truck and no closer to the tail gate than the wheel wells. Heck I can even remember way back when when we would "sit" on the tail gate, but not any more.

When we were kids my Uncle used to take us barreling through the winding mountain roads in Northern California while we were screaming and having a good old time just hanging to the roof of the cab and standing in the back in the bed. Whooohaah, great days and nights too!!

We only got to ride in the back sometimes and then it was just a short distance out the driveway. That much was fun for us.

We all used to pile in the back because there were 5 of us kids and 1 or 2 big dogs and all go jump in the lake.
