I have a wired router right now but its giving me problems. So I'm thinking fo getting a wireless linksys router. But if I get a wireless router for downstairs and I have my laptop upstairs then do I need to get a wi-fi connection for upstairs? Or will it work off the internet?

I have a linkys router(below is the link) which cost £45 and this is quite good because it is downstairs and my laptops upstairs and i get 4 signal bars out of 5. I only have 2meg cable broadband which is quite slow on the computer but on the laptop it is quite fast. I would recommend this router to anyone. I f you get a wireless router and your laptop has wifi then you don't need a wi-fi connections upstairs.

If you have a wireless router downstairs you WILL have a wifi connection upstairs, depending on how well the radio signal passes through the floor and walls of your building. If you connect your wireless router to the internet modem (as you must have already done with the current wired router) you will have an internet connection. You will have to set up your laptop to connect to the router, but that is easy.
