If you do, and you fix it...do you still consider it a mistake?

I have a 50/50 average on that one.
If I catch them and can correct them without anyone noticing them, they don't count.:)
Lucky for me I don't make a ton of mistakes, I'm a detail person.

I've never made a single mistake...(they were all married and had large families!) So, I've never had to even bother to try to catch any of them....I just wait until they've completely shattered & splattered all over The Floor of Life, then I take a good long look and contemplete my options.
"Do I clean it up? Or do I just leave it?"
There's always someone else left to do the cleaning-up, right?
Do I still consider it a mistake? Nope, I just chalk it up!

Usually I try to rectify my mistakes before anyone else points out and apologise too. To err is human and I'm not superhuman. With all humility I accept my mistakes and I expect others do the same. I don't believe or like cover up games. To truth is bound to appear in its ugliest shape some day. That day is bound to come up and it 'd destroy my credibility... Why just I, credibility is important for every person...Those who destroy their credibility for petty gains are real fools.. because once u have lost ur credibility ur value is not more than zero.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. And as far as fixing them goes, it depends largely on the severity of them. And yes, I still consider them mistakes, but the ones I fix on my own, I always put an asterisk next to them...

Yes, I usually do because I like to double check my work before finalizing them.

That happens to me all the time (well, whenever I make mistakes). Most times, nobody even notices the mistake until I explain why it was wrong. I'd say it still counts as a mistake, though, coz it's out there. And if it didn't count, I'd be perfect all the time & that takes the fun out of everything!

That's really a good question. Yes, it is still a mistake but you corrected your error......period. BUT it's a lot more diligent of you to find it before someone else does -- otherwise it doesn't look (to the boss, etc.) that you are paying close enough attention (for instance, proof reading)......WE ALL make mistakes -- part of what makes us human.
