It would be all about freedom of religion this and thats unconstitutional that, yet when huckabee says it for many its perfectly fine. Your silence is merely quiet agreement with the removal of democracy in my opinion.
How unamerican....

This country was NOT founded on christianity. It was founded on roman and greek ideas of democracy. Our founding fathers went out of their way to see that christianity is not mentioned in the constitution. It wasnt until the 50's that we begin the christianizing of the nation.
And how would you propose to take it back to your god without being detrimental to those that didnt believe in him.
I stand by my words.

Americans are primarily Christian. You can disagree all you want, but it's a fact. In 2001, 77% of Americans claimed to be Christian.
Huckabee is a Baptist minister. He does not hide the issue. And he embraces who he is. You do not have to vote for him.
I'm outraged by Hillary's view of Communistic healthcare. But I don't hear people screaming in outrage over it. It's another "quiet agreement with the removal of deomcracy in my opinion." Luckily, we live in the greatest nation, and can vote for the people that we want to vote for.
If someone said they were going to take this country back for Allah, many people would be outraged. (remember the 77%) But because so many are Christian, they agree that we could take the country for God. It's kind of scary to me, even as a Christian. Sound kind of like the beginning of a Holy War...

Taking a country back implies you want to restore it to its original ideals.
And originally, the USA is supposed to be secular. Originally, it didn't have "Under God" until the 50s in the Pledge of Allegiance. And it was added to the currency later also.
Just about every single major founding father have expressed that this is NOT a Christian nation, spoke of the need for secularism, and spoke out against the dangers of organized religion.
I have no idea what history book fundies read. Must be part of that magical 'science' book that says the earth is 6000 years old

What outrage. Allah is just the Arabic translation for God.
I am a Christian, and I say: 'Lets take back this country for GOD".
BTW, was I loud enough for you?

The country was founded by Christians on Christian principles. For most of our history the nation as a whole was proudly Christian including prayer in the classroom among everything else. Huckabee is not about making the country a theocracy like Iran but is about recognizing our roots and the importance Christianity has played in our culture for 200+ yrs. There is a huge difference between talking about it and telling everyone that they MUST be Christians or they will die or will have no access to government etc etc etc But I think you know that already but need to make something into what it isnt
You cant say take back the country for atheism because it wasnt founded on atheism nor have atheist been a significant percentage of the population for most of our history. If you want to campaign to make the country and atheist country then go ahead though it is your right

Well, America is not nor has it ever been, thankfully, a "muslim nation," so it would be kind of hard to take it "back" ... unless of course you mean take it backwards towards a more backwards benighted worldview.
