So a strait guy and a strait girl...is it possible for them to have a friendship without wanting each other or desiring each other?

I recently took a look at my past and current friendships and I find that if we are both single, its really easy for me to kind of desire them or vice versa. *I'm talking about close friendships too, hanging out, talking a lot, etc.

I mean I know the majority of people don't act on it or anything.

Also in regards to their relationship status, does that change things?

In the movie, "When Harry Met Sally", Harry said something like, "It's not possible for a man & a women to be just friends unless the man has absolutely no chance of ever having sex with her."

Yes, it can happen, but it's difficult. Hormones aren't real rational! The best male-female friendships I know started as dating, then discovering they were better friends than anything else...so the relationship/desire thing was already dealt with.

I think so, yes. My best friend all through junior high and high school was a guy. Neither of us had any interest in pursuing a relationship or even testing those waters. We were close enough that it was kind of a brother/sister relationship.
