I'm in the same boat tonight. My love is away, parents go to bed early, so I'm planning to make the best of it!
I went and got some chicken wings and southwest rolls (great munchie food :D) .. rented a couple movies, will take a nice hot bath, turn the fireplace on, cuddle with my cat and my blanket, and watch the ball drop at midnight, which I will make myself a drink for to watch. Reminisce on the good times throughout the year, and the good times to come!
It's all about what you make it for yourself. If you make it a good time, filled with things you enjoy, then being alone on New Year's does NOT have to be a bad experience by any means. :)

I usually sit and count my blessings. I will look at a few photo albums. Drink from a fancy bottle. If there is a full moon I will howl at it.

Whatever you do, dont sit at home and sulk. Enjoy the time alone! Take a nice hot bath, put on your comfiest (sp) pj's. and do any of the following: watch a cheesy lifetime movie, drink a few cocktails, make YOURSELF dinner, count all of your blessings, rearrange your furniture, light candles and enjoy a good book, go on wikipedia and look up your favorite bands, authors, etc.. call a good friend, order food in (let someone else cook, and calories dont count on NYE!) write down your goals for next year, call your favorite aunt, pamper yourself with an at home mani/pedi/facial! Turn up your ipod and dance like fool in your living room. Dont be sad-there are worse things than being alone on NYE. I am right there with you!!

I never get invited to New Year's bashes, so I sit at home and curl up with my cat and a book.

Sometimes we are our best company. Make a toast to yourself and watch the ball drop. Make of fun lists of things to accomplish in 2008, such as bungy jumping or getting a makeover. I'm sorry that your family left you out of an invite..

Call your friends, watch a movie, listen to music, play facebook jetman, go to bored.com, answer questions on yahoo answers, download photoshop on lime wire, etc. .

Well this year I'm spending it with my Mom (I know...I can't believe it either). She never goes anywhere. And I'm at home this year because I can't spend it with my love. Your family didn't even invite you....so you have the house to yourself =D ?
But I watch TV. Talk on the phone with my bf. EAT, EAT, and EAT!
