I am an Asian girl. I have many conversation regarding to marriage and the Green Card.

There are many people from every ethnicity (Asian, White, Balck)asked me--Do you want to marry an American man to get a Green Card?

I was like..Hah!---Thinking: " I am a victim of stereotyping again..."

P.S.

Unfortunately, many Asian women want to be in America so they get marry in order to stay here, but why do American men marry them?

i'm from Australia, and very unfamiliar with the green card thing, but i'm an asian girl too, and i agree there is a lot of stereotyping that exists about us trying to marry our way into a western country.

i honestly dont know why men want to marry in order to have an asian wife stay with them...

maybe cause they love them?

i honestly don't think the men think it's such a big deal. if i lived in china and wanted my fiance to become a chinese citizen, i would do whatever it takes so he could be. it wont be a matter of 'i'm letting you come in' but 'i want you to be with me'

i think most people who would knowingly marry someone like that are just plain sad and lonely.

and you don't actually become American when you marry someone who is. i think they just change your visa, but you're not actually a citizen. a friend of mine is 1/2 Filipino and his mom was married to his dad for like 10-15yrs before she got full citizenship.

Or Shadowen, American men want a woman that is not self centered and hasn't forgotten what a woman's role is supposed to be. Too many women, not all, these days want to run the show and it just doesn't work that way.

Some men look abroad for an old fashioned woman. Nothing wrong with that.

Because some men have control issues. you are here because they marry u and there fore gives them lots of control. and some men think with the head in their pants instead of the head on their shoulders.
