Even if it may not be what they want to hear?

I just did a few minutes ago. I hope she takes what I said the way I intended. I think she is an amazing friend but I just had to give an honest answer as to how I felt about her situation.

I was thinking the whole time, "God, I hope she knows that I'm not trying to be condescending. But, I can't allow her to ignore what her situation has to be doing to her children."

I really care about this person but I really felt that she was getting the answers that she wanted to hear instead of what she needed to hear.

I hope my honesty doesn't cost me a dear friend. But, if it does, it does.

I give honest answers all the time whether the person is a contact or not. I also expect to receive the same when I ask a question.

Serious questions deserve honest answers...although sometimes hard to tell the intent of a question whether the asker wants serious or not. But yes, I try to give honest answers to serious questions.

Yes. I try to give everyone honest answers. Even strangers, and even strangers in real life, I am usually honest about everything I say. I hate liars. So, I don't lie very often. HOWEVER, I will tell a 'white lie' if it is necessary.

Hi, cutie! Yup, when they ask honest Qs! (Some of my contacts ask outrageously funny, not-to-be-taken-seriously Qs...)
IF ANYone asks an "honest" question; I figure they want to know what each of us who answer HONESTLY think! (They already KNOW what they think... don't they?)
To be less than honest, ESPECIALLY to tell them what I "think they want to hear"... Well, that's kinda condesending, don'tcha think?
(Yes, I know you do.) Chin up, Sweetie. Just keep giving them honest! The BIG people can handle it! }:>

EDIT:
Hiya, 'Heat'!
"Honest" and "Rude" are NOT the same things. And you're right; some people (never our FTBM, of course...!) confuse the two.

Yes I do although I try to go about doing so in a tactful way so that I don't offend them or hurt their feelings.
