Presidendt Bush is a s[iritual person
Don't know who your referring too
As long as they are not a 'Fundie' with attitude, also why do they want the job when they could carry on preaching?

i go daily to Church and yes, perhaps you are more spiritual than i am. That doesn't say that someone else who is also a regular Churchgoer may be less spiritual than you, Abe!

Why! i doubt you're more spiritual than my Aunt. Shes blind. Chose to turn blind at age21 rather than abort her baby. She attends daily Mass and i can safely say that if she'd stand for elections i'd vote for her. Shes got more grit, wisdom & acumen in her little finger than most of the world rulers we see.
And most of all...shes got Faith!
Happy 2008!

A preacher will not necessarily make a good president, wiht that in mind vote for who you think is best suited to be out next president. I personally don't want Hillary Clinton to win ONLY because of how Bill Clinton has messed up a woman's life and while Monica Lewinsky is hated by many he has gone on with his life and is accepted by many. He was more at fault than Monica Lewinsky. He was our leader and she was an innocent young girl than. How is that fair?
So choose wisely!

I have to say I agree with you. I'm not religious, but am basically a good person, and although I don't go to Church I believe in God. My dad always said, it's better to be a good kind atheist, than an evil churchgoer, and I believe that's true. I know many really spiteful Catholics, Muslims, Protestants, and know many kind, truly spiritual people, who do not feel they have to attend church every week,to make a difference to the world.

I would vote for whoever has the right principles, not who was the most religious.

Hi Ebenezer,

Many middle eastern countries mix religion and politics together and Iran has a wonderful theocracy going on at present.....at seeing their blinding success in this endeavor ...I think I will pass...I like the concept of separation between church and state......I won't be voting for any preacher

There are a lot of people who believe that through God all things are possible. It is a preacher's job to teach and reinforce this type of thinking. If the preacher is successful enough at doing his/her job, people will then be living their lives according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. This could lead to things such as fewer wars and less crime. People will hopefully treat one another better and get along better with one another regardless of their background.

Also take into consideration that many politicians are considered to be unethical and immoral. Many people may like the idea of having a preacher as president because they may feel that the person would have better ethics and morals.

Some people may not care that a preacher might not know how to manage a large budget, but running a church is more and more like a business nowadays. You don't manage the budget properly, you're either out of a job or the church closes its doors. The preacher will have knowledge of managing a budget, although on a much smaller scale. A church is going to have people such as deacons or elders to advise the preacher on various subjects, so as president it would not be much different. Anyone running for president will have things that he/she is not an expert on and will need advisors who can provide an expert opinion and other information to allow the president to make an informed decision, which is why the Cabinet exists.

I'll consider voting for a preacher but only as long as the person is able to separate his or her religious beliefs from politics. We don't need a theocracy in this country.

Abenezer, how do you know you are more spiritual than most church goers?
Just asking, as that is a huge assumption!
The U.S.A. needs someone honest & righteous to be the President.
It's all part of the plan anyway, things are happening in our world, just as it says in the Bible.
The Middle East, the economy, famines, earthquakes, love growing cold, selfishness, the love of money. It's all there.
Someone once said, "You get the leader you deserve".
All the spending of millions & all the razz a ma tazz, does not seem the right way to choose a leader.

Edit::: How do you "deal with them"? Sounds scary.xx

Even though I am not American and I believe that you can be with God anywhere not just in Church wherever you pray or want to reflect. I too am not a Church goer haven't been to church in years but that doesn't make me a bad person. As for a preacher being the next president of the United States no I personally wouldn't trust him I always believed that religion has no place in politics and a preacher has no place being in politics I believe that religion should remain within the church or as part of ones personal beliefs and politics is part of the world stage and should be kept seperate. If that preacher became president I think it would be the worst thing for the USA especially on the world stage where you have so many different religion and so many differing opinions about religion.

Could look at if from this angle all choices could be termed Human Supremacists if this were an official term. After each election there is discontent with whichever choice is made. It seems a Preacher would seen less good than even these. If there were a President who wanted to end Human Belief in Supremacy defined as belief everybody, everything, everybeing was there for human profit would people vote for The President as choice and would The President win. Would people want such a President. Not campaigning here or anything just wondered how people would think seeing it from this angle.
