Can I be my own debt collector for my own business? I own a security business and need to get money from people that owe shipping and misc. charges for my company. Is it legal for me to send my own notices to people through by business telling them that they owe money and furthur action will be taken if they do not pay? Is this legal to do?

You are the ONLY on that can legally collect a debt owed to you. If you hire a collection agency, they only have rights because YOU have rights and hired them to act for you.

You could pay a local attorney $25 to send threatening 30 day demand letters directly to these debtors via certified mail or make your own rendition of one. I recomend searching "
notice of right to cure default, default notice, collection notice + your state, demand letter " & such to develop one.

Yes of course, what your asking to do is no different then sending an invoice in the mail. If you wanted to start calling people an harassing them that might be a different story, you would at very least be subject to the same laws as any other debt collector
