I did a preg test first thing this morning and it appeared to be negative. I have since gone to the bathnroom and there is now a very faint line, 4 hrs later. Does this mean I am or not???

Wait another day or two and try again. Sometimes if it's a little too soon you can get conflicting results. Good luck and Happy New Year!

Results should only be interpreted within the time frame specified on the test (usually 5-10 minutes). Anything that appears afterwards should not be read either way. That being said, I had what I thought was a negative test two days before my period was due. The line was faint and hard to read for the horizontal wash of pink. I thought it was just an evaporation line. I looked in the trash can a few hours later and it was clearly positive. So I repeated the next morning and I had a positive test, clear as day. I would definitely suggest retesting first thing in the morning. Any line that has the color of the test(i.e. pink or blue) and isn't grey, no matter how faint should be interpreted as a positive. Those digital tests are great about taking out the guess work and aren't terribly expensive ( I paid like $9 at Wal-Mart for the ClearBlue Digital). Good luck!

Try with a new test in the morning. After a while the test becomes invalid and can appear to give you a different reading. good luck!

Sorry. You still aren't pregnant. The reason the instructions tell you to read the test within a certain time frame, for example 3-5 minutes, is that after an hour or so most tests will appear to be positive. Take another test if you want to make sure. Good luck!
