I want to do commercials and maybe even get my own tv show! I already have an agent, portfolio, etc. So... now what? Does the agent do EVERYTHING? Or do I have to do stuff too. Please help me.

You have taken the first important step by getting yourself an agent. Hopefully they are a good one. Depending on where you are located and how many projects are filming in your area your agent will hopefully actively submit you for projects however you should definitely keep an eye out for yourself as well. You can submit yourself for projects and notify the casting director of who your agent is. It is always good to show your agent you are booking jobs. Keep an eye out on sites like nowcasting https://www.nowcasting.com/index.php and look for projects you may be right for. You can always tell your agent about them and let them submit you as well. Depending on how many clients your agent has you might get missed for something you would be right for. If you are serious about being successful in this field you need to realize this is a full time job like any other and do much needed ground work and never get lazy. So in answer to your question...yes...you must do stuff as well.

Good luck!

Brie, are you sure you have a real agent and are not getting scammed? How long have you been with this agent? and How many auditions have you had? Would you know what to do if you had an audtion? Read my profile and write to me at my aol address with the answers to these questions and I will help you at no charge.

yes definitely keep your eye out for your own auditions. But also be sure to keep in touch with your agent on a WEEKLY basis. Be sure to call them every week to ask them about new jobs. They usually have a bunch of clients and don't have time to remember you specifically for every job they get. also they get new jobs in everyday so don't think you're getting annoying think of it as persistent. The more you put your name out there the more likely they are to call you for a job because they know you're serious. Good luck with everything

they should email you all the lines, or "sides". memorize them and show up at the auditions with your headshot and resume. mine didn't send me on any auditions like the first month. it takes them awhile to get your stuff all in order anyways. but yeah, good luck! oops i mean break a leg haha

if there is anything else you need or need to do, the agent will tell you. oh yeah no one looks at ur portfolio if you already have an agent anyway! have it with youanyways if you want but don't bring it inside the audition room. and a measuring tape they'll ask for like 50 measurements lol

ur all set tho basically

I don't think that there is any harm in keeping an eye out for auditions yourself. (You will still probably have to pay your agent a cut of the wages unless you have come to an arrangement about whether they get paid if you find your own work). Your agent though will be in the best position to find work for you. If you think that you are suitable for a part, you can ask your agent to put you up for it.

I think that the best thing you can do is ask your agent if your ready. I think that he would be able to help you most. If you ever do get a t.v show can you email me the name of it? i would be more than happy to watch it.
