If you are an undergraduate, they only take 50 students a year, and as the #1 undergraduate business school in the country, you can imagine that they get thousands of applications. You would have to have nearly perfect SAT scores and grades, and a clear reason for wanting to be there, to get in.

Penn admissions are very selective but manageable. Wharton is the toughest of the 4 colleges at Penn, not quite as tough as Harvard or Princeton to be admitted but very close. You can't really get accepted to Upenn first and then wharton later, you need to specify at the outset. I would say bare minimum SAT math 750, bare minimum verbal 700, for a total of 1450. Higher would be even better. Lots of leadership experience. Genuine interest in business. Stellar performance in some tough classes. You should take calculus while still in high school. And after that you just need to cross your fingers, there's no magic formula for getting in.
