ANYONE can be gay, regardless of religion, culture, colour or or belief. Unlike religions, it's not something you can choose to be, or not to be.

This is a very controversial subject. I still feel undecided on this subject but here are some things for both sides:
The Bible states that it is wrong for homosexual interaction, and that those who practice it will be punished.
God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve & the anatomy of female and males.
There have been many cases of people who believed themselves to be Christians who later on developed feelings they could not resist.
I personally do not know how to take this issue. I am slightly more against it but I have never experienced the feelings to be gay. With Christian beliefs, God created man to be with woman. The feelings they say they are born with could be the work of the devil.
And when it comes to how churches accept them, it depends on how strict of a denomination.
It also depends on your interpretation of the word Christian. Some say it is just when you believe and pray to God. The Bible says it is a person who accepts Christ as their savior and lives their life for God and not themselves
I found cites that seems like they will be quite helpful. I have not read through, just glanced, but it seems to cover quite a bit. I hope they helps.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2357-2359: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art6.htm#2357
With love in Christ.

They can, the only reason religion doesn't accept gay people is because of the prejudices and bigotry of people who .. urmmm run the religion.
The Bible porhibits deviant homosexual behaviour (such as mass orgies and cheating on your wife with a male prostitute for example) just like it porhibits deviant straight behaviour, such as cheating and sex with more than one person in your lifetime. But loving, monogomus gay relationships are actually praised. If you don't believe me go read the story of David and Jonathan in the Bible, they were lovers and are praised for their love :) But not many Christians at all know about that story, because the religious leaders don't want you to know about it :P

The official line for Catholics is that you can be gay but just can't act on it for that would be a sin. Some other Christian sects are very accepting and open to LGBT folks to the point where their ministers can even be gay and can bless same sex unions ( United, Unitarian). The more fundamentalist the sect the less acceptance.( Baptist, Jehoval Witness, Methodist and others). Sexual orientation of course has absolutely nothing to do with religion or religious faith and LGBT folks can be found in every religion on Earth.

I'm a christian-i pray and i believe in god. If you do the research on the catholics, you will find out alot you don't wanta know. But anyway-i am lesbian and no i won't go to hell for who i love, people don't understand the bible, and most don't understand it was written by men.
Just like you was sitting around and alot of stuff come to your mind and you wrote it down, and alot of people did the same thing and you put it together and made a book.
You too might think it come from god-but it don't really mean that it did.but i do think we should follow the 10 commandmants and help our fellow man.
God knew he wasn't going to be here to lead guide and dirrect us,so we all need to help each other out,and not bash one another against the wall because we don't think alike or have different opinions. We weren't made to think alike.
