I just had a baby and I'm still going to school. I just simply don't have the time or money to take care of them the way I use to and the way they deserve to be treated. I was just wondering if anyone could help me determine about how much to ask for them. The black and white paint is 6 and she doesn't have papers. The brown and white paint is 4 and he has papers. He has Negotiator in his lines. He is Quarter Horse all the way back, however his mother was Overo so he has paint papers. I was working with him on barrels. He is very smart and catches on very quickly. His is a bit scared of men, he was beaten very badly before I bought him, that's the reason I bought him.
And I was wondering what to look for in a buyer to make sure that they are going to a good home.

As one of the previous answers stated . It depends on where you are located. I'm in southern Ohio where we had a drought this summer and hay is up to $8.00 a bale. as a result you can't hardly give a horse away. The only ones that are selling are those that are needed and trained for a specific purpose . A friend of mine just gave $2500. for a Cowboy mounted shooting horse and thought it was a bargain.
They are beautiful horses and I'm sure you hate to part with them.Hope you can find a good home for them.

The black and white is a fine looking animal. Good muscle structure, looks strong. The palimino one is gorgeous! I was looking for a horse like that a couple years back. (not now though.)

The value is based on age, training, temperment, and the local market. You need to read the classifieds of your local paper to see what similar horses are going for.

In my area, the black and white would probably bring $1500 if it can play day fairly well. The palimino would bring twice that for having papers. If either horse can really compete at a rodeo you can double the price.
