i hate to sound like an old fart or something, but the best way (i hate to say it) is to not smoke in your room. i keep one of these (http://tinyurl.com/yr9bve) in my car (which i chainsmoke in) and it seems to help control the smoke odors...i think there is charcoal in it, which helps to neutralize the odor. also, try citrus. and what works really well is peppermint essential oil, just burn a couple drops in an oil burner and it will help to kill the odor (it seriously works wonders). you can also try dabbing a cotton ball with vinegar and just leaving it in a corner of your room, which will kill the odors (it wont smell THAT bad either). good luck!

The best solution would be to buy an air purifier. Make sure it has a carbon filter as well as HEPA filter. Google for best air purifiers. Make sure the one you buy has capacity for your room size. Use either a cigarette snuffer or and ashtray with a water container or bicarb in the bottom of your ashtray. Much smoke is created by stubbing out cigarettes. with a snuffer they go out straight away without releasing clouds of smoke. Empty ashtrays regularly. You can buy a filtering ashtray with a USB port if you smoke at your PC - try ebay. Also from a health point of view try using Nic-Out cigarette filters - they remove tar and nicotine. These and snuffers are available from Bond of Oxford Street who are bondsofoxfordst on Ebay. I'm in the UK so you may find suppliers closer to wherever you live. Good luck.

When I was a kid my friend and I smoked out my open skylight and my non-smoking parents STILL smelled it. If it's a non-smoking home, they'll be able to smell it from a mile away. Smoke clings to everything (ncluding your clothing/skin/hair)You'll have to wash all washable fabrics, febreeze anything else, vaccuum the rug, wash the walls. Sounds like way too much effort for a couple of cigarettes.
PS people- the risks of smoking are pretty well-known. This question was how to get rid of smoke smell, not 'how do you feel about smoking' (And NO I do not smoke)

Don't smoke in the first place: That way your parents won't get mad at you, you'll still have your money for something nice, and you won't hurt yourself.

That aside, try using vinegar to clean the glass in your room, hot soapy water to wash down your walls, wash your bedding (the material will trap smoke!), and if you have carpeting try to shampoo your carpet. And after all of that, try leaving a bowl of vinegar in your room to pull out any lingering odors.

Now- I know this will probably sound like preaching. But I used to work cleaning for people, sometimes people who were heavy smokers. One lady had a large, beautiful mirror hanging over her couch. And I would have to clean that 3 times before the paper towels would stop coming away brown. Think of all that gunk going into your lungs. Does smoking really sound 'cool' now?

Good luck.

Get a bottle of FEBREZE.....it works....spray the bedding, carpet, drapes. Close the room up. When you go in again it should smell fresh. It may take 2 times to kill the odors. Look for a smokeless ashtray in the mean time. That you can hide in your room somewhere when not using it. Febreze works, so does some of the other things the other answerers suggested. Parents aren't stupid and they will find out one way or another. So I also suggest to quit while you are ahead, and before smoking gets the best of you.....!!!

If you set a bowl of vinegar in the room, just a small amount, like smaller than your average cereal bowl...it doesn't have to be much at all. It will help a lot!
Also burning candles will help to dissipate the smoke as well. Better to smoke outside tho, then you don't have to worry about it. It will also help you to cut down on your smoking if you only smoke outside. Good Luck!

The smell gets in the carpet, bedding window treatment, even the walls.

If you insist on smoking do it outside.
