Apologize to anyone in the Alaskan or Hawaiian timezones - feel free to weigh in also.

Does it bother you that EVERY SINGLE YEAR the country focuses their eyes on New York City to watch the ball drop?

This year I hear it's some kind of green crystal - to promote a healthier Earth.

No I don't usually watch it anyways. They usually replay the ball dropping deal at midnight here in the central time zone which is really lame if you watched it the first time. Conan O'Brien does the Central time zone countdown since he is on so late, but not this year. Thanks a lot writers!

The only time I ever followed that was when I lived in Florida, which is in the same time zone as New York City. Otherwise, I don't bother.

Why would we feel slighted? Who wants to stand in the freezing cold with several million people sneezing, coughing, smoking, drinking and cursing around you. We can stay at home and watch the fools free of charge! And I don't really give a hoot that this is done EVERY SINGLE YEAR in NYC. That's their thing. We have ours. Some da** fool will go outside and shoot off a gun and then we'll hear police sirens. That's exciting!
