At my church [it's for the youth]
And we're new to the church, so I don't really know anyone.
It's going to last 4 hours.

But the thing is....I'm pretty shy, especially at first.
I don't want to walk in and everyone be with friends talking and whatnot..and me just..be there alone.

Should I go to one of the adults there and ask them to introduce me to a few people or............??

Thanks

And happy new year!

ummm,...
I think you should do that,go to one of the adults, who you really know,or could be the Priest, then explain to him/her,about your feeling for being uncomfortable, coz you barely know anyone else there..

My reasons are:
1. If older ( well known) person Introduce you to a bunch of Youth at ur church, they might not want to "dissapoint" that person by "ignoring" or treat you as a stranger.
for sure they're going to help you to feel welcome and comfortable.
2. You can do it by yourself, just "jumped in" to a group, introduce yourself to them, and catch up with their conversation, but, you might feel so uncomfortable ( embarrased ) for a while, which may lead you to do or act awkwardly.Unless you are 100% ready for it,or if you're sure that you have enough guts, then it's okay.

If i can give you advise, when you already start talking with someone or a group of person,be not afraid TO ASK QUESTION..coz the answer that you would get,may lead you to other topic of your conversation..
It's like : keep it going,you know...instead for silence.

Good Luck and Have fun!!!!
GBU..

ps; Dont be affraid to introduce yourself, and telling people that you are new to that community.someone will help you out with that situation.Believe me!!

Don't be shy. Walk in there with your head up high and introduce yourself to people. Or at least one person. Then you will meet other and have a great night! You have to stay positive though, and trust yourself greatly. Just know that you are a wonderful person and people will respect you for it. :)

Just be yourself. Most likely many there will come up to you and introduce themselves. Otherwise an adult will probably introduce you to everyone.

Its ok to be nervous, its normal. It will work out. Have fun!!

I miss those days at my church, it was a lot of fun.
