I am a 44 year old man who lives alone and because of living expenses becoming too high ,have decided to look for a Roomate to find and share a House with. Not in a rush to get Roomate ,will wait until I find the right person. Is it too much to ask this person for past references and what their lifestyle is like.what questions would be important to ask.I want a Roomate who I can be friends with. Not someone who will be avoiding me at all costs.A person who knows how to be respectful towards another persons feelings and wont be bringing strange people into the house without discussing with Roomate. As I will be the same.am I being too demanding.Any ideas..

Find someone you can adapt to easily! Quit trying to find the perfect person! There's no such thing! Draw up a contract that covers the really important issues. Get a lawyer to look it over for you and make changes accordingly.
