Why on earth would some of these movies coming out now be rated pg-13 when they clearly woudl have been an R just a few years ago? It seems to me that the movie ratings have changed in the last three years due to the fact that Hollywood is making lousy movies that no one wants to spend money going to see at the theaters and that perhaps the rating system has changed to make more movies fit into the pg-13 category so that more families will take their kids to see what should have been (R) rated films. your thoughts?

The ratings haven't changed, but the times have. What may not have been acceptable a few years ago is acceptable now. Times change. It has nothing to do with the quality of the movies Hollywood is putting out.

i don't think they're taking what should be R movies and just saying they're PG13, i think they're taking R movies and cutting some of the good stuff out so that it will fit into a PG13. you could have a situation where a t*ttie or *ss shot would work just perfectly, but instead there is no good shot anymore. or there's situations where in real life somebody would obviously say a cuss word, but they decide to cut it out because they want the PG13. i don't know what you're complaining about, movies are getting more and more wussified all the time.
