No. I had both at one time and one of my chins had a little rumble with one of my ferrets. I was right there and got them separated in less than 30 seconds, but in that time my ferret got a nip on the nose and a mouthful of chinchilla fur (I was pulling them a part as he grabbed at the chinchilla, otherwise he probably would have sunk his teeth into my chinchilla and gotten more than just fur). It's too much of risk, just keep them separated - when one is out, the other should be in their cage or in another room with the door shut.

If you don't want your ferret to be a carnivore, then you should not have a ferret as a pet if you don't want to look after it correctly.

It is possible to keep both ferrets and prey spices together or should i say at the same time.

I have many pics of my ferrets with my rabbits, parrakeet's and chins, but under no circumstance would i leave the ferrets alone in a room with another species.

I would not even try. Ferrets are natural hunters. Even our "domestic" ones. I have to make sure the ferrets cannot reach many of the animals in my home. I also have a 4 1/2 foot iguana. I would place my money on the ferrets for damage points. Ferrets can be vicious hunters - and are even used for ferreting sports in the UK - unless the laws have changed - for rabbit hunting. A chinchilla can easily just be a sport for the ferret.

Unfortunately no you can't. Best you can do is separate them into different rooms and NEVER let the ferret get access to the chinchilla cage or you'll have dead chinchillas.

They're too hard wired for prey, it's difficult to keep them from going after any gerbil, hamster, bird, rat, mouse or pet chin.
