When xp starts up the graphics on the screen are of very poor quality. Under my computer the system is picking up the new memory added but the picture quality is bad and the error message shows up upon Boot. I made sure that I purchased memory with the proper specs. Please help!!

Memory was upgraded from 256 to 1 Gb. The 2 memory slots each hold up to 512. I added (2) 512 sticks in each.

You might have put it in upside down....I did that. Right slots followed the instructions, but....oops it was upside down....so I re did it....and it was fine.

It appears there is a conflict with bus resources. It means there is too much stuff in your computer and you will have to remove some things to get it to work properly.

Try taking out a few other things like the modem or sound card to see if you can get the computer to work. If not, however, you may be stuck putting the old memory back.
