I understand some states require child support until the age of 21 if the child goes to college. I'm being told in Tennessee it's not required unless it's agreed by both parents

I will go out on the guessing limb and say 18 or emancipated. The emancipated clause can stop payment when a 17 year old graduates High School or continue them if a child turns 18 prior to graduating high school. I stopped payment to my ex the month after the oldest graduated. That did not stop me from sending my child money. I damn sure cut off her mother though. The younger child was already living with me, that had been taken care of 2 years earlier.

In my 14 "road warrior" years I met plenty of other divorced parents all over the country. I have not heard of support being court mandated beyond High School graduation. I will guess further that support for a disabled child might be ordered.

Regardless of any guessing the end time is most likely stated in the divorce agreement or should be.

States differ.....usually it's 18 unless agreed differently in advance.
