ok i realized i made a mistake and cant completely escape any harm but ive had som issues going on lately and it slipped through the cracks. if i email my teacher what should i say? another thing to note is it was to be turned in online and typed on paper. i was thinking of saying that i tried turning it in online but it didnt work and im doing it the right way now. any thoughts?

dont lie, teachers are VERY smart (why else do we call them 'teachers'?). dont worry, i've been in a same situation; i had an essay due but i couldnt do it cuz i was moving houses and i had to stay up till 5:00 (and then wake up an hour and 30 min. after) every night cuz i was helping around the house. I told my teacher my situation and even brought in a note from my parents. she understood me and exstended my due date until 3 days later.

Tell the teacher the truth. Write the essay and turn it into the teacher. If this is your first time the teacher might understand and be lenient

What good would lying to the teacher do? None. Telling the teacher that you "tried turning it in" but "it didn't work" won't work; teachers are smart enough to see through lies such as that.
Just write the essay. Email the teacher to let them know that you know it's late and state why it's late (if you have a good reason); maybe they'll be merciful and not take off points for it being late.
