I don't have a very high GMAT score or undergrad GPA, so my options are limited(but I can get a second bachelors degree). I have read different things about Keller, but my question specifically pertains to becoming a C.P.A. I don't know how concerned I should be about finding a job with a degree from Keller. I figure CPA's are highly in demand, so I should be fine when I pass the CPA exam. I will have minimal, if any accounting experience when I graduate, so I expect to start at an entry level accounting position. I wonder if an employer would prefer I have a 2nd undergrad in accounting from a state university, or a Masters from Keller, or if they are both just as good, as long as I pass the CPA exam. I am hoping passing the CPA is what really counts. Keller's connection with Becker sounds excellent - I know many students use Becker to prepare for the CPA exam, and at Keller the Becker courses are built into the curriculum. I appreciate any information. Thanks

The degree itself is not at all respected, as has been pointed out by others here. The CPA itself is very much respected and very much in demand, so the question is, can you get the CPA with the emphasis you mention? Before spending a lot of money on the degree, I would want to know what their CPA exam passage rate is, and what percentage of their students get jobs as auditors which they will need in order to be able to get the CPA. Taking the exam alone doesn't make you a CPA, so you need to know both. I think the state university's connections with the Big Four would mean much more than Keller's connection with Becker - you can always take a Becker course. You don't need Keller for that.

Generally any school that is for-profit is not well respected. It falls into the same tier as University of Phoenix/Ashford University.
Your degree will land you an ordinary job; don't expect something exceptional.
A better choice would be your local state university.

Its not very respected by the general public; however, it will get you a job and that is what matters.

Also, having a CPA will make the reputation of Keller matter even less.
