The Work Progress Administration. It was part of the New deal to end the depression. It administered the:
Civilian Conservation Corps:
The WC PA
The Tenn Valley Authority
The Construction of the Hoover Damn
Numerous other road and public works projects to get America back to work in order to end the Great depression.

The Social Security Act provided a national retirement and disability fund workers pay into with it being taken out of their pay checks. When you see F.I.C.A. and the the amount deducted for it from your weekly pay check that is Social Security. you are paying into. So make no mistake about it the government isn't giving you anything when you start drawing your Social Security. It is money you have already paid into Social Security.

Fair Labor Standards Act and National Labor Relations Act are closely related in protecting worker's rights and an avenue to redress their grievances against their employers.
Example: If you feel you were wrongly treminated by your empoyer you can go to the National Labor Relations Board or your State Labor Board.
