y2 - y1 = -2 -2 =-4 = -2
--------- ------ --- ---
x2-x1 = 0+2 = 2 = 1

Since you meant [-2,2] and [0,-2] as your points, then you get

-2+2/0+2 = -4/2 = -2

The slope of the actual line would be 1/2
Perpendicular means reciprocal and opposite sign
e.g.: -2 = 1/2
e.g.: 5 = -1/5
e.g.: 1/3 = -3

you need minus one over the original gradient (slope) for the gradient of the perpendicular line

sorry, y2 -- y1 = 2 -- 2 = 0 and reciprocal will be infinite.

(2-2)/(0--2) = 0/2
Slope = 0, so the line is horizontal.
