America didn't knock down the towers - Islamic radicals did. Now I'm seeing questions implying that Clinton somehow was responsible for the trajedy in Waco - a tragedy clearly orchestrated and carried out by David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. For 51 days, federal agents and professional negotiators tried everything humanly possible to bring this standoff to a peaceful conclusion.
"On July 21, 2000, after a 10 month investigation, Danforth issued a preliminary report exonerating the government and its agents. His report concluded that federal agents did not start the fire, direct gunfire at the complex, or improperly employ US armed forces. Danforth assigned responsibility for the tragedy to the Branch Davidians and David Koresh. They contributed to the tragedy by refusing to exit the compound during the 51 day standoff, directing gunfire at FBI agents, shooting members of the compound, and ultimately setting the fire that burned the compound down.

Why is that so hard to accept?

In my opinion, some people like to drink Kool-Aid and then come up with outrageous theories, when they know it doesn't really pass the common sense test.

The terrorists crashed into the WTC and the Davidian's started the fire, which ultimately burned the complex.

the number One reason?
We Americans who supposedly placed these individuals in office, & pay with our tax dollars - let them.
We refuse to admitt that our system no longer works. That all our laws & freedoms are at the mercy of corrupt & fruadulent incompetent individuals.
And we don't know how to fix it.

It's completely baffling how twisted some people's logic is regarding the placement of blame.

For example, instead of blaming the insurgents who refuse to accept the democratic wishes of the Iraqi people, people blame Bush for the violence in Iraq. These insurgents are traitors to their own people. They are trying to usurp power. Yet people somehow think that Bush should be faulted.

How about the energy crisis? Why don't we put the blame on the people who got us in this mess? Namely, the undereducated hippies who irresponsibly screamed that nuclear power was unsafe. They have been proved wrong, and are the sole reason we didn't pursue nuclear energy.

Somehow we blame failing schools only on teachers, but never on the parents who don't monitor their own children's progress (until it is too late; then they go on tv and get all weepy eyed, as if their illiterate, teenage children are a surprise, or something). My dad was taught in the proverbial "one room school house" in rural Wisconsin, and yet when he moved to Chicago, his education was more than adequate to continue at a prestigious school.

I believe the problem is that it's too politically incorrect to ever blame the people truly at fault.

I saw the planes hit the towers and the video of Osama Bin Ladin smiling with pride so I agree with you there. But I also saw the video of the tank with a flame thrower crashing through the wall at Waco...

Well you sure said a mouth full .
First off the government had no right to go after David in the first place .
Since not once in the recent history of federal warrants has anyone done anything except go to jail ,I am sure Koresh was going to do everything he could to remain free .

When the State comes after you and your land and wants to take away your freedom to live as you choose then all you have left is slavery .

Guess all those people decided death was better then slavery and prison .

As far a Bush goes and the terrorists, they came from Saudi Arabia a nation Bush has close family ties and friendships with .

He was well aware of the plot to fly planes into targets in this country and allowed it to happen so he could push an agenda forward that reduces our freedoms even further .

We have lost so much in the last hundred years I wonder Just how much you are aware of at your tender young age .
Not having known freedom and being told all the time you are free seems a bit strange to me . Can you imagine back during prohibition if they had taken the land and money away from the families of Boot leggers . What would the Kennedy's have today or many of Americas wealthiest families who had servants brewing booze year round .

You understand very little about the world around you and need much more seasoning before you can begin claiming government reports as the truth .

I agree Islamic radicals did 9/11.. but the ATF was way out of line at Waco..
In fact they opened fire on the Branch Davidians first. It was reported that Koresh called 911 to find out why Federal agents surrounded his compound and opened fire.
Who started the fire at Waco? I doubt anyone will ever really know..You surely can't count on the government to admit they killed innocent people and are at fault.
The ATF was sent over supposedly illegal machine guns.It had nothing to do with child molestation within the cult. Local authorities and FBI had investigated the child abuse claims and couldn't get enough proof.

While I can see how it would be much easier to take the blame off of America and put it on some "foreigner" I am unwilling to lie to myself.

And if someone mistrusts the conclusion absolving the USA in the Koresh debaucle, then they must also consider the possibility that the 9/11 Commission was a puppet-report.

I'm not saying that either is true - just that it's much easier for us to believe the alternatives.

I don't think too many people are arguing the facts that you've stated... but blame is messy... some is bound to get on you when you're trying to place it on someone else.

Would you deny that Bin Laden wouldn't be who he was if the USA hadn't made him so?
(in one way or another)

And blaming Clinton for Waco??? Why not, it's an election year... no holds barred.

For those that hate the US government, it is their first thought to blame them for every thing and then try to justify their thoughts. Simple minds like simple solutions.

Because the concept of personal responsibility has been obviated. It is so much easier to blame the "government" than to accept that there are indeed evil people out there.
Individual people do horrible things. That's just a fact.
Let's not forget the motivation of financial returns. You can't sue Koresh. But you sure can sue the government. Which of course, means anybody who pays taxes.

Because, as hard as it is to believe, there are people out there who refuse to believe that there are people out there that hate us (radical Islamist), and if they do hate us, we're the reason they hate us.

The same people who believe that the gov't should be everything to everybody, also want to blame the gov't for everything that goes wrong.
