Twice. Once when we were newlyweds and once a few years ago when we drove in from Las Vegas to see it. On the latter occasion the community center near our friends' home in Orange County ran a special bus to the parade with grandstand seating included.
The first time was made memorable by a float from the Salvation Army. The theme was "Worldwide Travel". The Salvation Army entered a float of a large figure of Jesus with the words "Follow Me" at the base of the statue. The latter trip was made memorable by one of the grandstand sections almost collapsing due to the exuberance of the Wisconsin fans who had come west to cheer their college team on in the Rose Bowl.

Yes. Once when I was about 10 years old, and then last year's Rose Parade. It was spectacular, especially since I got road side seats. =]
I've decorated before, so I know how much effort goes into making the floats. Can't wait. Leaving at 4am to go do my duties. Have fun! and Happy New Year.

No, but would love to. I just saw pictures of the great floats yesterday and couldn't believe how beautiful they were. I does seem a bit extravagant. My son, a very blessed young man had the opportunity to drive out with friends from college to see it when WI was playing!! We are from WI. That boy has been so many places it is unreal!! and he is only 28!! Been traveling since he was in high school!! lol!

When I lived in the L.A. area, we used
to go every year, then afterwards, we'd
go to the park and see the floats close up. Then home for a big dinner.

I was a tour director for many years during my career in the travel industry.

I escorted to the Rose Parade for 7 years....mostly Californians/Nevadans but several English speaking groups from Britain and Australia.

Simply stunning parade.....but I can't watch it on TV anymore. Once you've seen it live, TV doesn't do much for it.

Besides, I live in the Philadelphia area and we have the fabulous Mummer's parade which I would never miss.

I have lived in Calif. all my life, but have never attended the Rose Parade. If if were not in LA, and if not for all the crowds,
I would like to just for seeing and smelling of all the flowers, it would be a joy to behold.
