AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual core 4000+
960 MB Ram
Win Vista Home Premium

I just bought this computer and on the first day it locked up 3 times and went to this blue screen that said something like crash dump.
It runs really slow and is always freezing.

I have another computer with an AMD Athalon 64 3500, 1 gb of RAM with Win XP and it runs great compared to this thing and I bought it 2 years ago.

Im running a system with the same cpu and Operating system and have no problems with it at all , I do however have 3 gigs of ram in it. So the system doesnt suck , it might just need a little tweaking.

(And for the people below me who say it sucks just because it has Vista , I run Vista on 2 of my Computers and they run with no problem at all , so maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself)

add more RAM to your pc, Vista runs slow with 1GB RAM , at least you need 2GB or 3GB RAM, I built my pc with Vista ultimate and it runs fast, but I have 4GB RAM , your processor is good so I dont think its that, I pretty sure that if you had win XP it would run much much faster, but since you only have 1GB RAM and maybe 32mb RAM are going to the video leaving you with 960mb even worse, so I would suggest getting more ram and uninstalling software you dont use

it's most likely from windows vista. windows vista still has many bugs and they're still working on it. that's why i recommend getting vista after they fix it all. every version of windows is like this when it first comes out. so all you gotta do is wait until they fix it up.

Vista is fine with a clean install on a computer with plenty of RAM. Yours doesn't have that second part. You'd be better off with at least 2 GB.

It's probably your RAM - Vista sucks a LOT of juice, and while the minimum recomended requirements are 1GB, I've never seen a PC run it very well without at least 2GB.

Since RAM is pretty cheep now, I'd take a look at upgrading. Search the web for the best RAM prices and go from there. Just be careful of the "shoddy" RAM sites - use one that's trusted and proven.

well i've never heard of 960 mb of ram but considering that Vista is crappy i would consider the computer to suck but it may simply be a virus...
