OK so technically youre an adult at 18. you can vote, you can buy porn, buy ciggs, ect ect,

but i heard, if you live with your parents, THEY are still responsible for you untill you turn 21 or move out (which ever comes first). is this true?

You are an adult at the age of majority. That varies depending on where you are (14-19 in the US). Once you reach the age of majority your parents no longer 'own' you. They are not your guardians. They owe you nothing and you owe them nothing.

Here is a list of Age of Majority for various places (Wiki is incorrect in some places so if it's important do a search you your state specifically): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_majority

No, that is not true. As far as I'm aware, your parents are only responsible for you until you're 18 in all states.

At 18, you're an adult in training. They give you 3 years to screw up as much as you possibly can then they really get you if you do something wrong.

18 in some states...21 in others....sometimes it's split. Like in Nebraska...you can be out on your own but you need a parent to co-sign for renting an apartment etc. All said and done though....21.
