I mean, isn't reality just a perception anyway?

OK, let me try to clear this up: There are as many realities perceived as there are individuals having established a 'personality'. Then there is a reality that does not depend on a view or if it is received or not, this is the reality of facts and deeds, that shows in conditions. So then of course there is a discrepancy between the both realities. One is totally subjective, it is just the assumption of what is gathered and molded into the individual self-image and all the concepts that are part of it. This can change constantly because the individual all the time is influenced by ones surrounding and needs to adapt oneself to situations and conditions that are encountered and that is the reality one is confronted at the outside and that doesn’t change. Out of this there are appearing all difficulties and problems causing frustration, disappointment, tension and reactions due to the fact that the individual reality and the reality encountered don’t fit together. A person tries to change the conditions if possible, even using force and all kind of tricks, but we know that this is difficult, but it is even more difficult to change ones established concept how things should be and so there are various ways to avoid the conflict: Looking away, pretending that every thing is ok, being too busy, too tired, too young, too old, etc. and then one changes the situation if it is no longer possible to avoid the confrontation. So then people divorce or eliminating the cause of conflict in one or the other way. But then surprisingly going into the same or very similar situation, again and again… Until maybe one finds out that the cause for the disagreement is not outside but within oneself. All the stress caused by the discrepancy of ones own reality and the conditions encountered is the main cause for disease, not only mentally and emotional imbalance, but also physical sickness. Once a person has done the step to realize that it is not the outside reality that is causing the problems but the established view of ones self-image, then real healing can start. But this is a step very few people are capable to take, the majority are sheep following the herd, depending totally on established authority and instead of questioning themselves and trying to find out the real cause, they just take pills…
Why people talk so much about their ‘reality’? Because talking about it gives them confirmation in their state of being. So mostly people talk about what is the most important for them: Their business, their success or their failure, their strength or their sickness. Look at yourself: What is it that gives you the feeling of importance? And if you get attention from others then you feel good, because you are confirmed. This is your reality and this is the most important for you. Right? The problem is that this doesn’t give real satisfaction and so people get bored after a while and then are looking for more exciting ways. We can observe this around us! Oh boy! People do the craziest things to get attention. Yes, this is part of the game to keep oneself busy, not to confront reality, not the outside one and not ones own! Mostly it is just enough to be like a zombie, numb and doing what every body is doing: Not asking any question!
So with your question you have touched a subject that normally is kind of taboo, but I believe it is a good question and good to think about it!

Yes reality is a perception. And a perception is a reality too. We have so many functional dispositives in amongst our repertoire of human activities. Some focus on the more vague ones and really enjoy reality that way. And some avoid the vaguer concepts and just go with the flow. Word games such as reality and perception are kind of like toys that a baby plays with. We can play that reality isn't real and go down the path of that activity and never really understand to the point where we are fulfilled and calm within with it. Everything comes at you from this point of view and maintains the individual in this web of self deceit Or one can mature enough to see that reality is the semantic portion of symbiotic science that represents an abstract activity and gives us a mental picture of activity that was, is and is to be and everyone participates. Is that reality enough for you or are you still trying to understand an abstract phenomenon but get all messed up at the use of a particular word?

you're merely thinking too a lot.i've got certainly been at that factor myself. You exist, you're right here, does it actually matter form why or how? I propose which you're taking a tub, hear to a pair soothing song and attempt to loosen up.Or save writing, open up a word checklist and merely form.it may help. If all else fails to ease your concepts, then you merely would desire to attend. yet i will extraordinarily much assure that those concepts will bypass.

Somewhat - some realities cannot be argued - like lightning, earthquakes, floods, death, birth, gravity, people breathe, dogs do not meow, cats do not bark, men cannot conceive, woman has not served as President of the United States, Florida has palm trees, Ohio is very flat, bears do not use toilets..........

In other words, EVERY ONES perception on these will be the SAME making it a DEFINITE reality.

SOOOO, Reality IS REAL.

After we came out of the church, we stood talking for some time together of Bishop Berkeley's ingenious sophistry to prove the nonexistence of matter, and that every thing in the universe is merely ideal. I observed, that though we are satisfied his doctrine is not true, it is impossible to refute it. I never shall forget the alacrity with which Johnson answered, striking his foot with mighty force against a large stone, till he rebounded from it -- "I refute it thus."

If perceived reality does not match up with absolute reality there will be a conflict to some degree. For instance you look outside and reality does not look cold, so you don't dress enough for cold. So when you go outside and perceive cold you then put on more clothes until absolute and perceived reality match up. Harmony is when absolute and perceived match up.
