Why don't you just use a ruler? Maybe you can't read one?

Answer 1 offers a clue. I'll just add my two cents. Precision might not be the result, of any of the suggestions though
Consider a sheet of printer paper is 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Fold it in half, half again, etc., "guesstimate" what you need.
Even a scrap piece of 1 x 4 lumber will be approx. 3/4 inch thick.
No offense, but not even a school ruler?
Actually not a bad subject to research. I have to imagine the WWW has such a site, for comparing, and print out the list if you find it.

A sheet of typing paper is 8 1/2 " X 11", if that helps.
You can fold it once or twice or so, to get smaller measurements.
The 8 1/2" width...4 1/4", 2 1/8", 1 1/16".
