I am wanting to replace the stock fuel injectors. However, I was wondering if buy a larger fuel injector would lower my mpg or if it would increase my mpg? All information regarding fuel injectors and how they get clogged and fuel economy will be greatly appreciated.

My personal opinion is it would use more gasoline but on a normal running system, you really wouldn't see the increase per say (as injectors are measured in flow plus how long they stay open).. it would cause the engine to run richer (and try to lean itself out to the point it will set a check engine light on a marginal system) but would it bring economy or power? nope unless you install other gear to help the fuel injectors do it's job as optimized.

Putting in "bigger" injectors does absolutely nothing unless the engine's airflow capabilities are matched to handle the extra fuel volume that "bigger" injectors are capable of. If this is done, fuel consumption will DEFINITELY INCREASE, if the vehicle in question is driven according to it's increased "abilities".

weird and wonderful, my 4.0 gets like 24mpg, yet thats because of the fact its a instruction manual i think. besides, in case you desire to get the completed satisfaction interior the ranger pass with the 4.0 it has approximately 240lb torque and 210 hp. The manuals are extra effective than the automatics in case you be conscious of the thank you to force a instruction manual effectively. you may desire to in all probability get 26 mpg. The 4cyl is far too small. and the three.0 is robust, however the 4.0 would have so plenty extra ability.

Did you put a more radical cam, high flow exhaust, chipped ECU, and high pressure fuel pump in already? What are you doing to a poor DROF?

if nothing else was changed at all you would get a check engine light and no change what soever your engines computer would compensate for the extra fuel flowing and retard the amount of time they are left open. it would see this as a problem and flag a rich condition code.

If everything is working correctly, and your driving style does not change, there will be no change in fuel economy or performance. Your engine, like most, is limited by the amount of air in and exhaust out - not the fuel system.
