I think the international date line has a bend in it to avoid this happening

Any island that has two time zones has one hour out of every 24 that separates two different days. For example, the island of Hispaniola is divided between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, which are in different time zones. Of course, they are only in two different days when it is 11 PM in Haiti and 12 AM in the Dominican Republic. Also, New Guinea has two time zones, as does Borneo.

No. As Rosie points out the International Date Line changes direction to avoid this.

There may be a very small uninhabited island where this occurs, but not very likely.
