My nan died and I've kept her gold watch. I use it as a good luck charm but my friend has just told me that the watch has to be "blessed" or something like that first before it is a proper good luck charm. It has always worked and given me good luck but has reassured me as well...now I'm not so sure. By the way any pessimistics that don't believe in superstitions etc. need not answer...x

It sounds like you have already blessed it with your love, especially if it has already given you good luck.

If you want to do something more, you can say a little prayer or just thank it (and thank your nan for looking over you if you wish).

Things that are passed on like this I don't do a full blessing with - I don't want to "start it over" so to speak, which is what can happen if you do the whole thing where you run it through incense, or leave it in moonlight, or whatever. I like to keep the essences that are already there.

If you ever start to have problems with it, then you can think about re-consecrating or blessing it.

I have a good luck charm and that has never been "blessesd". You can buy items that have been "blessed" but these are no doubt mass produced jewelry and I don't think they'd have the effect of something that you feel a personal connection to.

I'd leave the watch as it is.

It sound's like it has already been blessed, by your belief in it and from the love your Granmother has helped you get some good luck.
